Grace UMC has a daily Advent Devotional that will be emailed to everyone who receives our weekly E-News. There are also paper copies available. Click here to notify us if you want a paper copy of the devotional. You just need to send up your name, and the devotional will be available in the Welcome Center at the church.
Join us on Wednesdays during Advent for a special time together. We will have a 30 minute worship service in the sanctuary at 5:00pm, followed by Wonderful Wednesday dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30pm. So mark your calendar to be with us every Wednesday evening in Advent so we can keep our faith at the center of the season.
This time of year can be extremely difficult for people who have experienced loss, weather it is the loss of a loved-one, job, home, relationship, or anything else. Blue Christmas services are designed to help anyone who is grieving a loss this Advent/Christmas season. We will start our Wednesdays in Advent with this special service. So come and light a candle for any loss that is causing you grief this season.
This year the UMM are hosting a potluck dinner. Bring your family and a dish to share. The meat will be provided, so bring you can bring your favorite salad, side-dish, or dessert. Pastor Ben is hoping everyone brings lots of desserts.
The children of Grace Weekday School are partnering with the children and youth of Grace UMC to present this year's Christmas Pageant. The pageant will be followed by our Wonderful Wednesday dinner in the fellowship hall and activities for the kids. So get here early to get a good parking spot and seat. The church will be packed for this wonderful Christmas celebration.
Join us for an outdoor Christmas Eve like service, before Christmas Eve. We understand some people are unable to go to church on Christmas Eve, so we are offering this unique outdoor worship service. We will drink hot cocoa, sing familiar Christmas carols, and celebrate the birth of Jesus. There is even an activity for kids to make their own nativity scene during the service. Like all worship services, this is open to the community. And don't worry, you can come to this and still attend a Christmas Eve service on Christmas Eve, too.
Grace's Homegrown youth program is having their Christmas Lock-In as soon as Charleston County Schools get out for Winter Break. Please contact our Youth Director, Chip, with any questions.
Join us in our fellowship hall after the 11am service to see who has the best Ugly Christmas Sweater. Awards will be given for:
Funniest
Most Original
Best Matching
We will also have a Christmas Cookie Pot Luck. So everyone is asked to bring a plate of your favorite Christmas Cookies to share. You can drop your cookies off in the Fellowship Hall when you arrive on Sunday Morning.
Grace will offer two Christmas Eve worship services. Our contemporary service will be at 3pm and our traditional service will be at 7pm. Both services will celebrate Holy Communion and have the lighting of candles (or cracking of glow sticks).
Grace has a tradition of combining worship services every time there are 5 Sundays in a month. So join us for one service this Sunday at 10am
